Hardanger embroidery, a captivating and intricate form of needlework, has its roots in the stunning landscapes of Hardanger, Norway. This traditional textile art, characterized by its delicate lace-like patterns and intricate stitching, has enchanted crafters and textile enthusiasts worldwide. In this comprehensive workshop, participants will have the opportunity to delve into the rich history, techniques, and creative possibilities of Hardanger embroidery, empowering them to explore this captivating craft and unleash their artistic potential. Through a series of interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and guided instructions, attendees will learn the fundamental stitches, patterns, and design principles that underpin the art of Hardanger embroidery, allowing them to create their own stunning textile masterpieces.

Join us for our multi-session workshop to learn Hardanger embroidery. Hardanger is a form of counted thread embroidery that uses evenweave fabric. You will learn to create elegant pieces using straight stitches and pulled thread work.

During the 6-session workshop, you will complete a variety of projects, both functional and decorative using a wide range of techniques that you can then later apply to more complex projects. 

The workshop package includes six 2-hour instructional sessions as well as a personal kit that consists of all the tools and supplies that you will need to complete the projects within the course. You will also have extra materials for optional projects included in the workshop.Â
